It is my pleasure to announce that Professor Andrea de Silva is the incoming Chief Executive Officer of ISCRR. This follows the resignation of Professor Alex Collie last year. Andrea will take up the appointment from the 23rd January.
Professor Andrea de Silva Many of you will already know Andrea through her current role as the Director of Partner Engagement at ISCRR, the position which she has held for the past 12 months. In this role Andrea has refined ISCRR’s approach to engagement and research translation to maximise the real world impact of the existing research portfolio and to support evidence-based policy and practice at WorkSafe and the TAC.
Andrea brings extensive experience in research partnerships with universities and government agencies and departments including the Department of Health, Department of Education, health services and local government. Prior to joining Monash University, Andrea previously held senior academic roles at the University of Melbourne and Deakin University and has published over 100 academic papers and numerous government reports. Her research expertise is diverse and includes molecular biology, behavioural science, evaluation, health systems, epidemiology, public health, and community-based interventions. Her focus is on using knowledge and evidence to create transformative change in complex systems.
On behalf of the ISCRR Board I would like to welcome Andrea to the position during this exciting time for the Institute. I look forward to working together on ISCRR’s bright future.
