Evaluation of the WorkHealth Program
- DATE:
- August 2010 - August 2012
- CHIEF INVESTIGATOR: Prof. Malcolm Sim, Monash University
The WorkHealth check is a quick, confidential health assessment
delivered in the workplace. To date around 400,000 employees have
participated. The evaluation of the program is based on
an analysis of the data collated about the health of participants
in the program.
A key finding to date is that a strength of the
WorkHealth check program is in the collection of physical and
biomedical data which gives more accurate information compared to
simple self-reporting.
On the other hand, it is based on voluntary participation and
analysis has shown that some groups have a lower likelihood of
particpating in WorkHealth checks. Identifying that these groups
are missing out is important and suggests that more tailored
promotion of WorkHealth checks might help. The next report is due
later this year.
