Associate Professor Ross Iles recently joined ISCRR as the new Partnership and Development Manager. This is a pivotal role to support our Director in delivering the Institute’s strategy and operations, and leading business development initiatives.
Ross brings extensive experience and networks in the workplace health, wellbeing, and safety sector. With a background in physiotherapy, he is passionate about improving outcomes for workers through research that informs both policy and practice.
He previously worked at ISCRR as a Research Fellow, before moving into leadership roles including Deputy Director of the Healthy Working Lives Research Group at Monash University and Chief Research Officer at SuperFriend. Over his career, Ross has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and secured over $5 million in research funding focused on work disability and income support systems.
We look forward to Ross strengthening ISCRR’s collaborations and driving new opportunities to create impact through research. Welcome back to ISCRR, Ross!
ISCRR is proud to celebrate a significant milestone for two of our colleagues, Dr Pramila Rai and Dr Tesfaye Mekonnen, who have both recently completed their PhDs.
Pramila’s doctoral research focused on improving healthcare system sustainability in Nepal. Tesfaye’s doctoral study investigated healthcare utilisation for individuals with common work-related musculoskeletal conditions, including low back pain, aiming to reduce work disability and improve return-to-work outcomes for workers’ compensation claims in Australia.
Completing a PhD is no small feat, and we congratulate Pramila and Tesfaye on this outstanding achievement. We are delighted to have their expertise as part of ISCRR and look forward to the continued impact of their work.
