Olivia Crivari’s relationship with ISCRR started as an undergraduate student placement in 2021, which progressed to an honours student in 2022, and then as a Research Support Officer in 2023. ISCRR is very proud to support Olivia in this next phase as she begins her PhD journey exploring the experiences of women in firefighting.
Supervised by Associate Professor Carlyn Muir and Dr Jason Kearney from MUARC, and Professor Sarah Anderson from ISCRR, Olivia’s research will examine the relationship between safety and retention for female firefighters in Australia, with a focus on how physical and psychological injuries influence return to work and long-term career outcomes.
Olivia will continue contributing to ISCRR’s research program two days a week in her role as Research Fellow.
