A paper exploring how the design of residential care environments can better support vulnerable young people, and the people who work with them, has recently been published by our ISCRR team.
The findings emphasise the importance of creating spaces that feel genuinely home-like, while also supporting safe and effective workplaces. Factors such as personalisation, maintenance, occupancy levels and visibility all play a role in shaping these environments.
Congratulations to authors Carmen Schroder, Olivia Crivari, Phillippa Carnemolla, and Libby Callaway on this important contribution.
We are also pleased to share new research from ISCRR and partners on growing a safety culture in horticulture, recently published in the Journal of Agromedicine.
Horticulture is a high-risk industry where traditional regulatory and education-based approaches don’t always translate into lasting change. This study, “Growing a Safety Culture: The Mechanisms of an Industry-Led Safety Learning Network Pilot in Horticulture”, examined a Safety Learning Network pilot across Victorian farms to understand what actually drives engagement and behaviour change.
Congratulations to authors Sarah Oxford, Ashleigh Blair and Ruth Nettle on this important publication.
